Mindfulness-based Tools & Compassionate Support
If you watch and participate in at least 50% of the AWAKEN program over 3 months, and do not find AWAKEN to help you cope with your grief, I will refund your membership fee, no questions asked.
Grief is rooted in love, and because you love deeply, you grieve deeply. In addition to the sadness and heartache you understandably feel, this loss can wreak havoc on your whole being.
For starters, your body is likely steeped in the stress response known as fight, flight, freeze. This can make you feel tense, nauseous, and unable to sleep or eat.
Your mind reacts too. You may be irritable, forgetful, and often ruminating about the past or dreading the future. And then there is the yearning, the sadness, and loneliness that so many of us feel.
As painful as grief is, it is the natural reaction to loss that humans have navigated for thousands of years. There is nothing wrong with you.
Like those before you, you have to find a way to live with your grief in a way that is meaningful to you.
There are many things you can do to help yourself. Grief counseling. Grief support groups. Reading inspirational books. And of course, self-care, self-care, self-care.
But even when you know what you need to do, it can be hard to take the first step, as grief zaps your energy.
This is where I come in. To metaphorically hold your hand and lead you to your grief-tribe. Where you can join other people just like you, and discover the mindfulness-based tools that will help you break through the fog of grief
Before this course I was having anxiety and depression. The weekly practice was powerful, but integrating my practice into my daily life was especially helpful. I am calmer now. Even when I focus on my grief, it doesn't seem as overwhelming.
The program has been my life jacket in a very stormy sea of grief. I am the person who ultimately has to swim and get back to land but having this has given me hope that I will get there, in my own time and with the help of Heather and my companions in the online sessions.
This course has brought me back to a mindfulness practice and has been instrumental in my finding peace and equanimity with the loss of my husband and the resultant changes in my life. I recommend this course for anyone who has suffered from the loss of a loved one.

Monthly Workshops are held on the first Tuesday of each month from 7:00 - 8:00 PM EST. Sharing circles are scheduled for the third Tuesday of each month from 7:00 - 8:00 PM EST. More will be added in the Winter of 2019! You may call in using your cell phone for easy access, or use a video camera and join online.
Don’t worry – the Meditation Master Classes are recorded, and the replay is available for you to download. Plus you can always post your questions in the Private Facebook Group and Heather will answer you. Sharing Circles are not recorded to keep confidentiality of the group.
The sharing circles are designed to help you connect with the Awaken Grief Tribe, keep your practice on track, and provide a forum for you share victories and receive support if you are facing obstacles. Each sharing circle will begin with a brief centering, and then the “floor” will be open for sharing. Each session will also close with an integration, so you can create an action step for the next month. There is no judgment, only loving support.
No. Each Monthly Master Class will focus on the topics from the book, so you will get the content you need from the program itself. You may wish to read the book for additional information, such as the inspirational stories, and to help reinforce the meditation techniques.
This course is designed specifically for grief associated with the death of a loved one. It is not suitable for relationship loss or divorce. If you have a psychiatric diagnosis that includes psychosis such as hallucinations or active flashbacks, meditation may exacerbate your suffering. Please clear this program with your mental health provider before continuing.
